This is a dog who clearly lives a rough life. We're pretty sure that animal services will arrive at our door at any minute to take her away to less abusive, more comfortable environment.

There's been a surprise for Finn in the works for quite a while now, and after a work trip to Denver for a few days, I returned home Wednesday evening to find a giant package sitting in my dining room. Here is Finn’s original bed. She's been yelling at me like this for weeks about the poor quality.

I bought this one while we were trying to crate Finn all day while we were at work. It's more of a crate pad than an actual bed. We were told she was “crate trained” when we adopted her, but she clearly hated the thing and acted like a wild animal after we let her out at the end of the day. She won the battle over the crate, and now she gets to roam free during the day in the house. I am pretty sure “roam free” actually means “sleep all day,” because it never looks like she’s moved when we get home.
Anyway, the original bed is obviously puny and not very cute. She slept on it, but I knew there was something better out there. I searched all over the Internet for personalized dog beds, but I am not really into blue or red plaid, so I did not really like any of the beds I found online. One day, I was searching Etsy, and I discovered that you can purchase a custom-made bed for your pet. I began corresponding with a lady in New York, and I spent a week deciding on fabrics for Finn’s new bed. The top and bottom are made of a fabric called Minky Dimple Dot, and it is quite possibly the softest fabric in the world.
After all the research, selecting fabrics, measuring Finn, and waiting for the bed to be made and shipped, here’s the final product:

It's a huge, 42-inch luxury model, complete with a name monogram. Let's just say that Finn quit her yapping and is happy to be out of the shelter and sleeping on her brand-new, custom-made, ultra-plush bed. It’s amazing how fast a dog can go from sad shelter dog to spoiled princess. It took her about three minutes to determine that this bed is quite possibly the most comfortable place to sleep in the entire house. This dog is spoiled, spoiled, spoiled! This bed is so soft and comfortable, I am beginning to wonder if I should get one of these for myself…
