Saturday Fun

David spent the day in Wichita Falls at a bike race called the Hotter 'N Hell 100. In my opinion, riding 100 miles on a bike is crazy, but anyone who does it at the end of August in Texas must be crazier than hell. He lucked out, though, because the temperatures were actually pleasant here -- around 90 degrees with low humidity. It could be much, much worse. He says he finished in around five hours, if that means anything to you.
The whole point of telling you that is this -- Finn and I wanted something fun to do on Saturday, too. We packed up the car and drove about an hour to Lake Mineral Wells State Park to enjoy the cooler temperatures and have a cookout with friends.

It was a beautiful day, and Finn got to participate in her very favorite activity -- running crazy in the water. She gets so distracted by everything when she's having fun like this, so she had to stay on her leash. This makes it a lot less fun for her and a lot more painful for me as she jerks me in various directions while I am holding the leash.

Here is Finn watching a squirrel:

Here she is warming up before going completely wild in the water:
This is the beginning of her signature move -- she sticks her head in the water, then bites the water, then runs crazy, then repeats:
Here she is after she laid in the sand to dry off, doing her best to look mistreated because I am making her leave:
