George Strait at Cowboy's Stadium

Well, if Texans want to perpetuate the stereotype that "everything is bigger in Texas," Jerry Jones has helped by building the new Cowboy's Stadium. This place is ridiculously huge. Seriously, it is massive.

On June 6th, I got to go to the first event in the new stadium. The stadium still needs finishing touches, but it was still cool to get to be a part of the first event there, especially since it was a George Strait concert. I'm not a huge country music fan, but I love George Strait. Mom loves him, too, and I took her to a concert in Lubbock last year. Dad has never seen George in concert, so we all went together. David does not like country music, so he didn't join us.

Watching the Stadium Roof Open for the First Time:
It was so much fun! The other acts included Leeann Womack, Blake Shelton, and Reba McEntire. We got to visit a suite in the stadium, and we had good seats. The concert started at 5:30 and lasted until close to 11:30. By the time we got out of the parking lot, through the traffic, and back to the house it was close to 1:00 a.m. I don't do late nights as well as I used to, but it was worth it! George never disappoints.

Apparently, the Arlington police only arrested 21 people for public intoxication after the concert. I am guessing the other 10,000 drunk people at the concert felt pretty lucky to have to only deal with a hangover, and not an arrest, after the concert.
