Spinning and Sweating

I took my first spinning class yesterday. I was looking for a change, some variety in my workouts. I didn't know I would find a way to sweat out a week's worth of water intake. My oh my -- I have never sweat that much in my life!
I only mumbled a few expletives under my breath at the teacher when she kept insisting that we turn up the resistance. My restraint was impressive, because I was actually in the mood to walk up and punch her. My attitude seems to have an inverse correlation to my body temperature.
I was so hot and sweaty that I walked outside into the Texas heat (98 degrees with very high humidity) and it felt good. I think all the water loss made me delusional. This is a photo of me about ten minutes after the class, after I had an opportunity to "cool off" in the air conditioning and throw some cold water on my face. I truly thought I was going to lose my vision from all the sweat in my eyes and that my face was going to catch on fire (it looks so red that I think this was a possibility). I literally had to wring out my hair in the bathroom before I walked to my car. I hate that this is the way you have to see my new haircut, but here it is:

It was a good workout, but it sure didn't make me feel pretty.

  1. Love the tomato face and sweaty hair! I tried spinning...once! I felt like I'd been bull riding!

  2. I'm sure that's what I looked like after my first spin class. But, I'm not brave enough to take a picture of myself.
