Good for You, Jenny Sanford

Jenny Sanford, I do not know you, but based on what has been reported about you, I respect you. Your husband, the governor of South Carolina, went off on a little jaunt with his Argentinian mistress. Apparently he did this more than once, and was busted by you earlier this year. If finding out privately wasn't embarrassing enough for you, this time he got busted by the world.
I know, this kind of crap happens all the time. It is just that most of the time when the governor, senator, or other high-powered person makes his public confession, his wife is standing by his side. I have always wondered what was going on in that woman’s head – or more precisely, who talked her into standing on that stage to be publicly humiliated by her husband’s confession to an affair or some other indiscretion.

Now, I am not saying that I know what I would do in this situation if it happened to me. I would like to think that I have enough self-respect to skip the news conference confession. Maybe you decide to work it out with him, and maybe you don't -- that's your business. But I am cheering for you, Jenny Sanford, because you put your sons and yourself before your husband's career. Good for you, Jenny Sanford!

  1. Have you read where he admitted to more affairs than just his Argentine mistress? What a dirt bag. I loved this quote from her statement:

"There is no question that Mark's behavior is inexcusable. Actions have consequences and he will be dealing with those consequences for a long while."

  2. It's probably all about the "money" and the "family name" in most cases...blah blah blah. I'm cheering for JENNY!
